Quick Recipes on Symbian OS

Mastering C++ Mobile Development

This book will teach you how to start developing C++ applications for Symbian smartphones from scratch. It presents a series of recipes to get you cooking within two weeks.

The recipes are divided by technology, and include those for graphics, multimedia, location-based services, networking and messaging. Each chapter is self-contained so you can pick and mix those ingredients you are interested in. Each recipe explains the length of time needed to implement it, and its difficulty level. The task is then explained in detail, and provides snippets of example code. The full sample code is provided for future reference and for use as a starting point in your own projects.

The book also includes a 'Getting Started' chapter and another chapter that describes the essential idioms of Symbian C++. The book closes with an explanation of best practices, tips and tricks, and how to prepare your application for release - taking you from novice cook to cordon bleu chef in under 400 pages!
