Symbian Developer Library
The definitive latest releases of each version of the Symbian Developer Library (SDL) and the associated C++ examples are available in this section. These are aimed at all developers working with Symbian OS to create new applications, new system level components, operating system ports, and other Symbian OS products.
The SDL documents the APIs and technologies common to all phones based on that version of Symbian OS, and the tools and utilities needed by system extenders and product creators.
Note that, since the documentation relates to the generic Symbian OS Development Kit, it lacks information specific to user interfaces and also contains references to tools not included with SDKs based on such reference designs. It is recommended that SDK users install the SDL alongside, rather than in place of, SDK documentation.

This version of Symbian OS is the basis for the Nokia 9200 Communicator series SDK for Symbian OS v6.0. It describes the core Symbian OS APIs and tools available to developers targeting the Nokia 9200 series communicators, including the Nokia 9210, 9210i, 9210c and 9290.
The Symbian Developer Library for Symbian OS v6.0 and associated C++ examples are available only as part of the aforementioned SDK, integrated together with the 9200 series-specific API documentation and C++ examples.
